I can’t believe I’m starting to meet with some of my 2023 couples for their engagement sessions! This month I got to meet Cayla and Michael they’re getting married next October at the Crystal Point Yacht Club. I had so much fun capturing the two of them, I can’t wait for their big day!

How they Met

Cayla and Michael met at work during a charity basketball game. During the game, Cayla stepped in to guard him and he claimed she fouled him. Cayla told him he would know if she really fouled him. This was their first interaction with each other. They are both very competitive. After the game, everyone got drinks and Michael asked for Cayla’s number.

The Proposal

We went out to a nice dinner, which is a usual thing for us in the summer. Therefore, I did not think anything of it. It was an early dinner so we had plan to get drinks somewhere after. After debating on where to go, we settled to get drinks at The Crabs Claw in Lavallette before supposedly meeting up with his friends. After parking on the street where his family used to own a house and the street we go up to the beach, we started walking to the bar. He claimed he forgot his phone and wallet and ran back to the car. Meanwhile as I still have no clue, that is when he got the ring. He changed his mind when he caught back up with me and said let’s go up to the beach. We walked up the beach entrance and stood on top looking at the beautiful beach. He stumbled on his words a little and I thought he was going to break up with me. But he finally came out and said what was happening and asked me to marry him. At that point, my father and stepmother were walking up and his parents were driving up the street honking. My stepmother took our pictures and his mother made a beautiful spread in the trunk of their car to celebrate.
