I had the pleasure of recently capturing Marc and Gillian’s engagement session in New Jersey. Their love story began on a classic New Jersey summer day in Belmar. Marc was working as a lifeguard near Gillian’s home, and her mom had already noticed his charm and ambition. After months of playful introductions, they finally met at Joe’s Surf Shack in April 2019. From that night on, their connection was undeniable.

“We met at Joe’s Surf Shack, and the rest is history,” Gillian shared.

Their First Date in Belmar

Marc and Gillian’s first date set the tone for their fun, adventurous relationship. They started with dinner at Marina Grille in Belmar and continued the night at 10th Ave Burrito for drinks — a local favorite that remains a special spot for them to this day.

The Proposal in Lambertville & New Hope

Marc planned a proposal that perfectly reflected his thoughtful and surprising nature. Rather than proposing at the beach, he whisked Gillian away for a mini getaway to the Lambertville/New Hope area.

After checking into their Airbnb, Marc suggested a hike on Goat Hill Overlook to see the Delaware River. Midway up the trail, Gillian posed for a picture — and Marc was suddenly on one knee! Alone at the overlook, they shared the unforgettable moment and celebrated their engagement by exploring Lambertville and New Hope as newly engaged fiancés.

“I was beyond surprised! It was the perfect mix of adventure and romance,” Gillian said.
