I had the best time shooting Kate and Matt’s Hoboken engagement session. Love often shows up when we least expect it, and for Kate and Matt, it all began in Hoboken about five years ago. Though they both went to Penn State, their paths didn’t cross until after graduation when mutual friends introduced them during a night out.

“We went out one night in Hoboken and met through friends — and the rest is history,” Kate shared.

Their connection was instant, and it wasn’t long before they were planning their first date.

A Cozy First Date at Zack’s in Hoboken

A few months after they met, Matt invited Kate out for their first official date. He suggested Zack’s in Hoboken for drinks in December, not realizing how busy it would be during the holiday season.

“It was the dead of winter, and Matt didn’t make a reservation, so we sat in the freezing cold while chit-chatting the night away,” Kate laughed.

That chilly night turned into something truly special, marking the beginning of their love story.

A Dream Proposal in Santorini, Greece

Fast forward a few years, and Matt had the perfect proposal planned. While on a group trip with friends, they traveled through Mykonos, Paros, and then Santorini.

“He proposed in Santorini overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was simply amazing,” Kate said.

It was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime moment — surrounded by friends, beautiful views, and so much love.

Engagement Session Outfits & Glam

For their engagement photos, Kate chose a gorgeous dress from Saltwater, a stylish boutique in Point Pleasant.

“They have THE best clothes,” she said.

She also had her makeup done by Danielle Santana of Make Me Up Eva, which gave her the perfect glowing look for their portraits.

Wedding Plans at Crystal Point Yacht Club

Kate and Matt are set to tie the knot this September at the stunning Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.

“I envision my wedding day to be elegant and classy with a hint of beachy,” Kate shared.

It’s the perfect setting for their elegant, coastal-inspired celebration, and I can’t wait to capture every joyful moment of their day.
