I recently had the pleasure of capturing Nick and Courtney’s Spring Lake engagement session. Nick and Courtney met just like so many other couples these days – on an online dating site. However, they still believe it was somewhat destiny that they found each other. At the time, Nick was living in Jersey City, and Courtney was in Clinton. One weekend in June 2021, Nick visited his hometown of Metuchen, where he matched with Courtney on Bumble. Because Nick was home, they were exactly 30 miles apart, which is the maximum distance that dating apps typically allow. If it weren’t for that weekend, they probably would have never crossed paths!

The First Date

From the very start, Nick and Courtney experienced an undeniable chemistry. Their first date lasted almost three hours, filled with nonstop conversation and laughter. For them, there wasn’t a singular moment when they realized they were meant to be; it was a gradual understanding that life together simply made perfect sense. As they say, “when you know, you know,” and this couldn’t be truer for Nick and Courtney.

A Dream Proposal

2023 was a busy year for the couple, with numerous weddings to attend, many of which required travel. Amidst the celebrations of their friends, they decided to carve out a special getaway just for themselves. In August, they traveled to Portland, Maine, to enjoy the charm of a New England summer. Courtney, ever the planner, had included visits to state parks in their itinerary. Nick suggested an early start on their first full day to beat the crowd, leading them to Two Lights State Park. As they admired the views and took pictures, Nick revealed the true purpose of their visit. He proposed to Courtney on a park bench overlooking the water! Overwhelmed with joy, Courtney kept exclaiming, “WAIT REALLY??? REALLY?? IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?!!” Nick presented Courtney with her dream ring—a classic round solitaire on a plain gold band, featuring a hidden halo for extra sparkle. It was a perfect, intimate moment, just for the two of them.

Their Spring Lake Engagement Session

For their engagement session, Nick and Courtney chose the picturesque area of Spring Lake New Jersey, a location that offered the best of both worlds with its beautiful park and beach. The dual settings were perfect to capture this chapter of their love in two different yet complementary vibes. They are both happiest on the beach and also love taking a stroll in the park, so this location felt like a no brainer.
