Going back to where it first started for Victoria and Matt. It was the summer of 2013 when Victoria and Matt met for the first time through mutual friends at the Parker House in Spring Lake, NJ. So of course we had to start their engagement session at the very place they met.
FIRST DATE
I was always really nervous for first dates. I told him this and we kept it casual and went to MJ’s for a drink.
THE PROPOSAL
I’m a jeweler and I hate surprises! We looked at diamonds together, and then I made my ring. But I wouldn’t give it to him right away because I wanted to know when he was going to do it. January 8, was a Friday and he never goes into work on a Friday, and neither do I. He insisted we go in and go to a glass making class. We went for “drinks” first at a rooftop bar that overlooked the Empire State Building. It was just us when he proposed and it was perfect!
THE RING
I have an oval diamond with a double wrap eternity band and a small emerald that’s a mouth full! I didn’t want a traditional engagement ring and since I’m a jewelry designer I got to play with different designs!
THE ONE
Before we moved in together Matt would come sleep over at my parents house like once a week. We would turn off the tv and have “nighttime chats” it was something I looked forward to the most when he stayed over. After a few times of staying up late and talking I knew he was the one.
